1947) in 1968, 127 John Street was a 32-story
(97.6 m), multitenant commercial office building
in New York City’s financial district. The build-
ing’s architecture was characteristic of the time
period—a generic building mass clad in a stan-
dard glass and aluminum curtain wall with an
open-floored structure for maximum flexibility
