American graphic designer Lance Wyman (b.
1937) first gained worldwide recognition when
he led an international design team for the
graphic design system of the 1968 Summer
Olympic Games in Mexico City.
Wyman majored in industrial design at
Pratt Institute, graduating in 1960. He began his
professional career as a staff designer at
General Motors in Detroit and subsequently
worked on the American Pavilion for the 1962
