Ligiah Villalobos, writer/producer of the independent feature La Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon, Mexico/USA, 2007) – which was shot for $1.9 million and went on to make over $23 million worldwide – also worked as screenwriter on a Latino adaptation of an Israeli film. Speaking about Homeland (Showtime, 2011) and In Treatment (HBO, 2008–2010), which were adapted in the US from Israeli television shows, Villalobos says:
