Chapter 1. The Guitar

Whether you’re using software or hardware, the first step in recording guitar is choosing and preparing the guitar. There is an old acronym in the computer world: GIGO. It means Garbage In Garbage Out; that is, what you get out of the computer is only as good as what you put into it. In this case, it means if your instrument doesn’t sound good or play well, your tracks will suffer—no matter how good the sounds you get out of AmpliTube 3.
