Take the Time Necessary to Ensure Project Success
One of our project’s objectives was to acquire a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software product to support a business area’s critical needs. Although the organization had experience with this type of work, the individual team members didn’t know exactly what they needed to do. Our project sponsor picked a date about six months out as the target for publication of the request for proposals (RFP) and we set about organizing for that milestone.
