WEEK ONE

I couldn’t hold back any longer and just had to harvest the potatoes! I was really pleased with the yield, and they taste delicious. We’ll enjoy eating them for a while yet, and I made sure that I saved 10 potatoes for seed next year. I’m quietly confident that I’ll manage to source even more seed potatoes to plant in March—I hope I’m right!

My salad bed is going from strength to strength. The lettuces are still cropping very well, and I’m watering more frequently to try to stop the plants from bolting. Back in spring, I received some out-of-date beet seeds in the seed delivery from the kind local gardener. I’ll sow them in the salad bed this weekend.
