8Insurance

8.1 Construction operations can be hazardous, and it is therefore important that liability for losses resulting from personal injury or damage to any property or to the works is clearly allocated to one party or the other, and that the liability is backed up by insurance. Should any incidents occur, it is vital that there should be no room for dispute about who is liable for the losses, and that all concerned should be clear about what procedural steps must be taken. Ambiguity in the contract can only lead to confusion and delays, which will benefit neither party.
