Chapter 24. The Impact of Organizational Development

Organizational development (OD) applies human performance technology (HPT) methodologies to a whole system rather than just to components of the system. In this chapter, I will define OD and study a case in which the complexities of an issue cross the entire organization, including its culture, operation, and systems. I will examine how OD uses the same results-oriented approach that HPT uses to achieve a sustainable solution to the issue.
