Only a few of the organizations that provide resources available to safety and health professionals are mentioned in the following list. It should be recognized that the explosive growth of the Internet has made access to a broad range of up‐to‐date information faster and better. Exchanges of information through informal networking have also been good resources for safety and health professionals:

21.2 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH HISTORY
21.2.1 The Past
In 1760 BCE, King Hammurabi, who belonged to the first dynasty of Babylonia, set in motion the collection of laws and edicts that came to be called the Hammurabi Code. It was believed that the code had been received by the king from the sun god, Shamash. The code included the procedures to be applied regarding property rights, personal rights, and debts.
