Summary

As I mentioned earlier, being cloud-native is about how we deploy our microservice, not where. If you design it from scratch to not depend on where it's deployed, moving it to the cloud is as simple as getting around any cloud provider.

If you keep yourself out of provider lock-ins, you'll be able to migrate your microservice from provider to provider, or even deploy to multiple providers with little to no effort. We will look at some design patterns and best practices in the next chapter before you're fully ready to create your own microservice.
