Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to set up screen flow between the FlxState objects, and how to set up and style UI components that HaxeFlixel provides. You also learned how to easily use HaxeFlixel tools to add some visual effects with very little effort.

If you ran into problems along the way, check out the provided source files for this chapter. Compare them with what you've done to spot differences.

I recommend playing around with the effects and screen layout to make sure that you have a good feel for everything. A few minor changes can make the effects look significantly different.

In the next chapter, we're going to really start fleshing out the game. We're going to add animations and most of the core game functionality.
