Purpose of Use

One type of context is the purpose of use, which is a specific parameter of a request for information or a request to have something done. It indicates why the request is being made and how the requester intends to use the information. A common purpose of use is for a patient’s “treatment.” That is, the user is asking for this information so that they can make clinical decisions related to treating the patient.
