You’ll have to cope with a number of so-called minor complaints in pregnancy.
Though when you’re struggling with your errant innards, the problems don’t always seem so small.
During pregnancy, you may find your digestive tract plays tricks on you. You can end up with heartburn or constipation – or even be doubly blessed! The same hormones that ensure your pregnancy develops healthily slow down the movements of food and waste along your intestine. You can help yourself by eating fibre-rich food, and drinking plenty of liquid. Exercise such as walking or swimming also gently stimulates the bowel, which will aid digestion.
