Throughout your pregnancy, your due date shines like a golden marker. Everything you plan to do is coordinated with that date. Most women find their due date comes and goes without event, and quite naturally start to feel impatient.
It is in fact normal to be overdue. According to childbirth expert Sheila Kitzinger, 95% of babies do not arrive on their due date. Seven out of ten of these babies are overdue. A post mature pregnancy is one that is longer than 42 weeks. Most pregnancies last 38–42 weeks. About 5% of pregnancies are post-term – after 42 weeks.
