After your baby’s birth in hospital, the time you spend as a patient depends on your health and experience as a mum, as well as your baby’s condition.

Your stay can be anything from as little as 6 hours to 48 hours for a normal birth and between three and five days for a Caesarean. It depends on the policies at your particular hospital.
