Google recommends that you test your signed release version on at least one real device before publishing. (I confess that I rarely do this.) Getting the release version onto a device is a little more involved than the debug version.
Android Studio has a feature called “build variants” you can use to do it, but it doesn’t work with the Signed APK Wizard. Instead, we’ll use the command-line tools.
First, open a command window (sometimes called a shell or terminal window) and change your current directory to the location where the signed APK file was created. This is shown in the figure.
