In this chapter, you learned two ways to display web content: by starting a new intent to open a web browser, and by embedding a web viewer in your app. You also learned how to view local content with the viewer, and how to communicate back and forth with between the web page and Java using JavaScript. This technique is used by cross-platform toolkits like Apache Cordova.[75]

Sometimes you don’t need to display a web page, but you just need to access some kind of web service or other data from a server. In the next chapter, you’ll learn how to do this.
