When you look at the red/blue map of America, the Democrats seem on the edge of extinction. There’s a blue strip up the West Coast, across the Northern border with Canada, and down the East Coast to Washington, D.C. Almost the entire heartland is red. Moreover, even in many blue states, the red splotches are getting larger. It makes you think that the whole country could turn red.
