‘As far as I’m concerned,’ an old recruitment chum told me recently, ‘fitting your CV onto two pages is a principle not a rule… but it’s a very good principle.’
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, who you’d think ought to know whether or not size matters, offers the following guidance on their website: ‘Ideally it should be two pages long with each page printed on a separate sheet.’
Employment agency Manpower gives similar advice, suggesting that: ‘Two pages is an ideal length for a CV.’
