Abstract
This chapter illustrates some of the key concepts behind optimizing the so-called Wilson-Dslash kernel, which is a frequently used component in lattice QCD calculations. Quantum chromodynamics (QCD) is the theory of the strong nuclear force responsible for binding quarks and gluons together into nuclei.
