Foreword
I am very honored and pleased to be asked to write this foreword, and very eager to see this new volume in the “Pearls” series about multicore and many-core programming. The growth we see today in many-core processors was probably inevitable. While it is easy to say that in hindsight, it does in some small way validate a rather large bet my team at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) and our colleagues at Intel made half a decade ago.
