The Value and Pitfalls of Social Media
If you listen to the news, you would believe social media sites are taking over the world. It’s inescapable, and let’s admit, we’ve all watched more than one cat video or “stupid stunt gone bad” video. I continue to be amazed at the millions of views such things garner in just a few days. The wide number of ways people use social media sites to earn a living also amazes me. All of this leaves me wondering what makes some things wildly successful on the Internet, while the vast majority of content fades away, never to be seen again?
