Conscious travel – advice and exercisesfor a different travel behaviour

In chapters 13 and 14 we discussed the principles we thought desirable in creating, planning and structuring the conditions for travel. At this point I want to underline a major reservation: even if we did succeed in improving the external conditions of travel in the direction of our discussions, travel itself would not necessarily become more human. For this to happen the behaviour of all the participants – travellers and their hosts – must be changed. It is on such a change that all my following proposals and all my hopes are based. In the same way, the desired structures will probably be brought about only when progress has been made on this level.
