The Tools of the Trade

In this chapter, we will look into the idea of persistence, or the ability for a hologram to reappear in the same spot every time we open our application. We will learn to use World Anchors, the World Anchors Manager, and the World Anchor Store and see how they facilitate persistence.

While World Anchors are not really complex, we will learn about some of my trials and errors that occured in the process. Then, we will spend some time going over the best practices laid out by Microsoft.

We will then continue fleshing out our application by adding a scoreboard and a few in-game menu options, such as start and reset options. In the process, we will also build a simple debug information window ourselves. This is so that ...
