Let’s begin this chapter (and the next for that matter) with my explaining that I do not intend to tell you how to wire electrical outlets or install HVAC systems.

Over the next two chapters, I want to explain enough about the subjects of electical system design and HVAC design to help you avoid some problems, allow you to make some decent judgments, and get you ready to deal with the subjects.
