In a home recording studio environment, a sound signal and the acoustic space in which it is produced have an inherent impact on what the sonic result will be—more so than any other elements in the recording chain. Your monitoring system literally functions as the transmitter or the “sonic bridge” between the content you produce in the studio and your ears. Needless to say, monitors perform an absolutely critical function, and it is not a stretch to say that the quality of your recording correlates to the quality of your monitoring system.
