Enlightened knowledge management initiatives work by bringing together structures to support knowledge sharing, such as virtual team work and peer assistance, with the development of abilities in people, such as improving their communication skills to allow them to be effective at sharing knowledge. Technology-based support is provided where appropriate, but with consideration for people and company culture issues.
