So where to now? What brave new steps are you going to take as a result of buying and reading this book?
There is a wonderful scene from the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which Sean Connery plays Indy’s father, Dr Henry Jones.
Although his father is dying, Indiana has to continue on the crusade for the Holy Grail. Indiana comes across a large ravine that is impossible to cross. He reads the ancient instructions, which say, ‘Only in the leap from the lion’s head will he prove his worth’ … and he realises he needs to take a leap of faith. His dying father mutters, ‘You must believe, boy’ and with that Indy takes the successful leap of faith, crossing to the other side of the ravine on a previously hidden bridge.
So now we ask you to do one thing and one thing only. No, we are not asking you to step into a ravine to certain death — we are asking you take a leap of faith. Although you have worked hard to learn all about storytelling, from our own experience and that of all our clients we know it is perfectly natural and normal to feel a certain amount of trepidation.
So we invite you to take a leap of faith and also want to assure you that while we ask you to take a leap of faith with us it is a tiny little leap of faith. It is normal to feel anxious, but that is no excuse to not do it. As Dr Henry Jones says, ‘You have to believe’. ...
