To compare the cost effectiveness of the processes, the fixed costs and the variable costs have to be taken into account to achieve the total costs of the replication of a desired series of molded parts. A comparison can only be expressive if all costs can be determined successfully, especially the investments for molding machines. Here, only commercially available machines are suitable for a determination of costs. This limits the comparison to two processes, injection molding and hot embossing.
