6.3.3. Modeling of Material Behavior

The modeling of the material behavior for a process simulation requires the modeling of the behavior of the polymer during melt, cooling, and demolding. Further, the shear thinning behavior and the viscoelastic properties and the p-v-T-behavior of the polymer have to be taken into account. Here, an amorphous PMMA, BASF Lucryl G77Q11, shall be described in detail. This material may be considered a representative thermoplastic amorphous polymer material. Hence, the qualitative results may be transferred to other polymer materials. These measurements refer to established measurement techniques for determining the viscosity behavior.
