10.4.1. Micro Needles

Another application for hot embossing technique is in the medicine, in particular for drug delivery. Micro needles are one of the minimally invasive drug delivery systems entering the body through the skin. Therefore, the outer layer of the skin (stratum corneum) with a typical thickness in a range between 10 μm and 20 μm hast to be pierced.
