Where to Next for the Travel Industry?
By May 2020, everyone was looking for easing of travel restrictions to be “timely and responsible” so that the economic and social benefits we expect from tourism can be seen again. However, such a return must also be sustainable. As we know, this was not to be at that time as we continued to see falls and spikes in infection and death rates as new COVID-19 variants appeared, and restrictions on the movement of people became tighter or relaxed depending on which country you were in.
