But some teens suffer from acne – and it can make their life hell. How can you help?
Acne – severe, persisting outbreaks of angry red spots, blackheads and redness – is a skin condition suffered by a huge number of teenagers, and can be triggered by hormonal changes experienced during the teenage years. It is caused by the over activity of the sebaceous glands, which secrete an oily substance called sebum on to the skin. The face, back, chest, shoulders and upper arms can be affected.
