CHAPTER 4

Coaching Individuals for Transformative Change

Once in mystery of how the world works, an individual—let’s call her Linda—has assigned meaning to each life experience. Positive impacts—as well as negative—carved paths that dried into permanence over time, a geography of predictable responses—her comfort zone for moving within the world. Now when similar situations present themselves, she is ready with actions that arise automatically from embedded paradigms, which have the permanence of concrete, barring any conscious attempt to change them. In other words, she is where you were before you began your personal transformation journey (although your respective comfort zones might look like different countries if viewed side by side).
