The Overall Survey Objective

To develop a comprehensive survey objective, you need to answer three questions:

  1. Why do you want to conduct an employee opinion survey?

  2. What are the areas in which you want to know the employees' opinions?

  3. What employees do you want to survey?

These three questions are interrelated, and your answers to them will allow you to clearly establish your overall objective and describe the purposes for which the information obtained from the survey will be used.

Let's consider these three questions and your possible answers to them. Then your answers can be used to develop an objective for your survey and a plan for implementation.
