System Preferences is where you make your Mac bend to your will. With each change you make to the System Preferences, you shape and mold your Mac so that it will do your bidding without hesitation and exactly to your specifications. It’s good to be the king!
To get started on your tour of OS X’s myriad preferences panes, choose Apple | System Preferences. As Figure 14-1 shows, the preferences are divided into four categories: Personal, Hardware, Internet & Wireless, and System.
