Creating a Softer Feel

Photo-realistic drawings often have a very hard, precise look to them. For some subjects, like sleek sports cars or glass vases, this is a desired effect. But for other subjects, such as forests of trees or an animal portrait, a softer feel is more appropriate. I’ve been softening edges in the lessons leading up to this one, but here I’m going to show you specifically how to soften edges to create a romantic vignette-style frame to create a mood and properly enhance a natural subject like this contented goat.
