Emerging technologies – interviews in the future (and now!)

The rate of change in modern technology means that some recruiters, like many other people, continue to explore new possibilities. A friend of mine from the UK was interviewed by webcam on the internet for a lecturing job in Australia. The images were a little jumpy but this was acceptable compared with the cost of flights (and she got the job!).

Video, on-line and telephone interviews are becoming more and more part of everyday recruitment practice, because of their convenience and cost-saving. Don’t be daunted by the new technology!
