As a professional speaker I'm sometimes asked if I ever embellish a story, perhaps making it a little more interesting and amusing than it was in reality. And my honest answer?

I see my role as a speaker as not only to inform and inspire but also to entertain.
When I'm telling a story there are also occasions when for the sake of time and relevance I miss out certain details. My goal is not to communicate 100% of the facts and give my audience too much information but to get over a particular point. As to the question of whether I put a certain degree of spin on what I'm saying, I plead guilty as charged.
