Strategic know-how

Part 1 has two broad aims. The first is to examine what strategy is and how we can learn to think strategically in any context, not just in organisations. The second is to provide an overview of strategy in the business context and how it affects the health of an organisation.

Strategy has three main constituents: core challenges, coordinated, creative and sustainable actions, and value creation. The term ‘strategy’ is used and misused in a bewildering number of ways in a wide variety of contexts so we offer a clear and workable definition.
