When issues in a network occur, system administrators or operators starts investigating and troubleshooting. This activity is called problem investigation, although the definition of problem investigation in NNMi and ITIL don't really match or mean the same.
To investigate a problem, NNMi has a list of tools, which are needed in most cases while investigating:
