14.1. Caliper

Caliper is an extensive run-time performance analyzer for IPF applications running under IPF versions of HP-UX. It is available for HP-UX 11i v1.6 and later. Caliper allows a program developer to analyze a program to find performance bottlenecks. Caliper works with any IPF-based binary and does not necessarily need a special compilation of an application to provide useful feedback. It can even work on heavily-optimized applications. Caliper is provided as a free standalone product or is installed automatically when the HP ANSI C, ANSI C++, or Fortran compilers are installed.
