Spectrum and RF characteristics

Abstract

The RF characteristics of UTRA are determined by a set of minimum RF requirements that base stations and UEs must meet. These are strongly related to the frequency bands that UTRA is able to operate in and the global and regional regulation of how that spectrum can be used. There are a number of frequency bands identified for mobile use and specifically for IMT. The RF requirements impact the RF implementation in terms of filters, amplifiers, and all other RF components that are used to transmit and receive the signal.
