Considerations When Beginning a Layout

Here are a few things to help you along as you lay out your own sites and hone them before releasing them into the wild.

Separating content and presentation

• As a best practice, always separate your content (HTML) and presentation (CSS). You learned how to do this in Chapter 8 by linking to an external style sheet. If you do so from all your pages, they can all share the same layout and overall style. This also makes it easier to change the design of the whole site at a later date, simply by modifying the CSS file or files.

Browser considerations
