Many would-be canvas programmers come from backgrounds such as Flash, Silverlight, and other graphical development environments. Fortunately, they need not learn all of HTML and JavaScript to create effective canvas apps. In fact, you can get away with near zero HTML knowledge and still create superb canvas tools, visualizations, and games.
