7.7.1 Job descriptions
Job descriptions are building blocks of many personnel functions, some of
which fall outside the realm of this book. The list would include explaining
in normal and accurate language what activities are part of what jobs; dedu-
cing relevant measures of performance; identifying the knowledge, skills,
and abilities and other qualifications required; identifying training needs,
and forming a basis for comparing jobs, for example, with compensation
