Reason for the Book

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) joined forces with The Keil Centre in 2009 to develop a human factors training program tailored specifically to meet the needs of the chemical and process industries. Managing human factors was identified as the next major step change in safety and business performance. The training program was intended to develop and up skill industry professionals, many of whom had no formal qualifications or training in behavioral or human sciences. By early 2016, the human factors training program had been delivered in four continents, with delegates from over 150 leading international companies.
