FUNCTIONING OF THE STATE ACCREDITATION SYSTEM
FOR PROGRAMS IN ECONOMIC SCIENCES
The state accreditation system is the basic method for external quality assurance of higher educa-
tion in programs in economic sciences in Poland, while the voluntary community accreditation is
an additional method for achieving the same goal.
Ofcially, the state accreditation system in Poland became operational in early 2002, before Poland
joined the Bologna system. It is subject to continuous improvement. In order to ensure the minimum
acceptable level of education in both state-owned and non-state-owned higher education institutions, the
