It appears that the difculties in developing regulations for the training of teachers are due to
the fact that it is necessary to reconcile the two directions of the evolution of education. It seems
appropriate to agree with Karwasz on his statement that teachers must have the knowledge of their
chosen subjects in order to direct the development of knowledge and skills of the learners. On the
other hand, teachers should not do it ex cathedra but rather understand students’ development pro-
cess and so choose and modify the methodology in order to build on the potential already possessed
