Methods used in teacher training programs should stimulate the development of critical
thinking and ability to understand, assess, and creatively transform educational theories
and concepts. Passive reception of knowledge on educational theories should disappear
from the practice of teacher training, and teachers have to become responsible for the cre-
ation of that knowledge through reection on their own experience. It only can be achieved
through a fundamental change of the teaching methodology used in teacher training pro-
grams at universities and in other places taking part in teacher training.
